Description

312

Critical Inadequate Treatment

The water system is served by a surface water source, Haggard's Lake. There is no treatment on this water system. There is no electrical power available onsite. Some of the dwellings do have solar; however, during the winter month's this is not reliable.

Corrective Actions: All water systems in BC must meet Drinking Water Treatment Objectives (Microbiological) for Surface Water Supplies in British Columbia Version 1.2 / First Published November 2012. There are currently barriers to meeting these standards. The following is required: 1. Develop a plan to meet these treatment standards.

318

Non-Critical Inadequate Microbiological Analysis data

Currently no bacteriological sampling is occurring. The Drinking Water Protection Regulation requires at least 4 samples/month for a system this size; however, the system is currently on a long term boil water notice and is remote. Considering this, the system will be asked to sample at a reduced frequency.

Corrective Actions: 1. Develop a sampling program that includes a sample submission of once/month at representative locations (close to the pumphouse, and the farthest points on the left and right side of the distribution system). 2. Complete sampling as per the submitted plan.

319

Non-Critical Inadequate Chemical Analysis Data

A chemical analysis has not been completed since 2009.

Corrective Actions: Complete chemical analysis as per the provided parameters, and submit the results to our office. Ensure this testing is done at least every 5 years.

322

Non-Critical Emergency Response Plan

An emergency response plan has not yet been completed. The drought component has been submitted.

Corrective Actions: Complete the emergency response plan and submit it to our office. Ensure to review this plan annually and submit any changes to our office.

Comments
THE SYSTEM IS ON A BOIL WATER NOTICE. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION: The water source is Haggard Lake. The system does not meet the Drinking Water Treatment Objectives (Microbiological) for Surface Water Supplies in British Columbia, Version 1.1, November 2012. CONNECTIONS: 37 POPULATION: 50 WATER SYSTEM: No treatment EOCP STATUS: Small water system OPERATOR TRAINING: There is currently no trained operator or designated operator. There are members on strata that may have equivalent experience. ACTION: Ensure there is a trained operator at all times. ASSESSMENTS: The source to tap assessment has not yet been completed. ACTION: Complete this assessment and submit it to our office. Ensure to review this assessment every 5 years. WATER QUALITY ADVISORY: The system is currently on a long term boil water notice as it was constructed without treatment on a surface water source. There is no electrical power available and limited ability for solar power for the year round treatment that would be required. All water users are made aware of the boil water notice by repeated signage (at the dock, community board, and standpipes) and notification during the annual meeting. ACTION: Maintain the boil water notice and notification process until approved treatment is put in place. ANNUAL REPORT: An annual report has not been completed for this water supply. ACTION: Ensure annual reports completed for each calendar year by June 30. These reports must be made available to the water users and a copy must be submitted to our office.
