Critical Inadequate Treatment

Inadequate treatment and disinfection of the drinking water supply. Community is currently in process of moving towards compliance with the Drinking Water Protection Act and Regulation and the British Columbia Surface Water Treatment Objectives.

Corrective Actions: Continue to move towards compliance with the Drinking Water Protection Act and Regulation and the British Columbia Surface Water Treatment Objectives, as outlined in the Operating Permit terms and conditions.

Non-Critical Emergency Response Plan

As discussed, an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is required for this water system.

Corrective Actions: Emergency Response Plan is to be developed and reviewed on an annual basis, with updates made as necessary and a copy forwarded to the Environmental Health Officer for review. Template and ERP resource to be emailed to Water System contact.

Comments

Water system remains on a Boil Water Notice since June 2010. Ensure all water system users: -continue to be notified on an annual basis, at minimum; -any new water system users are informed of the Notice. -signage continues to be posted at locations such as standpipes. The Boil Water Notice remains in effect until rescinded by the Drinking Water Officer.
