As you are searching for a retailer, you may see multiple tobacco retailers listed with the same name. Be sure to click on each of the tobacco retailers listed to see all inspections associated with the retail location.
If you have questions about a tobacco retail inspection report, please email (tobacco.inspections@odhsoha.oregon.gov) or call (971-673-2283).
Benton, Clatsop, Klamath, and Multnomah Counties operate their own TRL programs. For complete inspection results within these counties, please reach out to the Local TRL program.
Inspection Purpose Descriptions:
Initial Compliance Inspection and Post-Remediation Plan Compliance Inspection: Each year tobacco retailers will be inspected at least one time to make sure there are no violations of state or federal tobacco retail sales laws, regulations, or rules. Tobacco retailers will receive an Initial Compliance Inspection annually. Retailers that have previously failed a prior Initial Compliance Inspection will receive a Post-Remediation Plan Compliance Inspection until their 60-month review period ends.
Follow-Up Compliance Inspections: OHA Follow-Up Compliance Inspections will occur if violation(s) are found during an Initial Compliance inspection. The Follow-Up Compliance Inspection is conducted no sooner than 15 days after the failed Initial Compliance inspection.
MLSA Inspection: Each year tobacco retailers receive a Minimum Legal Sales Age (MLSA) Inspection to make sure there are no tobacco or inhalant delivery system (IDS) sales to customers under 21 years of age.
Synar Inspections: Synar Inspections are federally mandated under the Synar Amendment, which requires enforcement of laws that ban the sale of tobacco to underage persons. Synar Inspections are a sub-set of MLSA inspections and fulfill the annual MLSA inspection requirement.
Complaint Inspections: OHA may conduct additional inspections in response to public complaints of potential violations.
